RITE continues its cooperation in research for CCS-EOR with the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) sponsored by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO). As it is essential to understand the behavior of CO₂ adequately to maximize the efficiency of EOR, RITE launched an initiative with the aim of application of CO₂ behavior monitoring technology to an actual oil field in China and selected oil field candidates to verify this technology jointly with CNPC. In addition, RITE promotes technical exchanges with CNPC to clarify technical challenges in CCS-EOR in China, and conducts verification of the effectiveness of RITE's monitoring technology and introduction of the technology.
