ABSTRACT

1. Development of Immunoassay Systems for Endocrine Disruptors

1-1 Development of ready-to-use ELISA for Bisphenol-A (BPA)

The ready-to-use ELISA kit containing already diluted standard solutions and one bottled coloring reagent was developed and the product was released in fiscal 2003.

1-2 Development of ELISA for Alkylphenol (AP)

The monoclonal antibody for the quantification of AP such as Nonylphenol (NP) or Octylphenol (OP) was generated and the ELISA kit for AP was developed and the product was released in fiscal 2003.

1-3 Development of ELISA for Dioxin (DXN)

The monoclonal antibodies against the ligand of dioxin receptor (arylhydrocarbon receptor:AhR) were generated but the antibodies did not react with dioxins. The pre-treatment methods for DXN analysis from various matrices were developed using the monoclonal antibodies derived from other companies.

1-4 Development of ELISA for Polychlorinated Biphenyl (PCB)

The pre-treatment methods for PCB analysis from various matrices were developed using the ELISA kit derived from other company.

1-5 Simple immuno-detection kit using flow through type devices

The simple immuno-detection kit for BPA was developed using the flow through type devices. It can detect 1 ppb of BPA within 10 to 15 minutes, but the stabilization of the kit was necessary and is under way.

2. Development of Concentration Systems for Endocrine Disruptors

2-1 Development of Antibody Affinity Column

The method of obtaining and immmobilizing BPA polyclonal antibodies was investigated. The cost and the performance, however, were still inadequate and has been studied for improvement.
